Do I need Building Regulations approval to re-roof?
Usually, yes, if 50% or more of the roof covering is being replaced. You can apply to Building Control yourself or use a Competent Person Scheme roofer. We're NFRC CPS registered, so on a qualifying re-roof we self-certify the work, the scheme notifies building control and you get a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate. Repairs such as slipped tiles or lead flashing aren't covered by this.
What kind of guarantees do you offer with your roofing work?
Qualifying domestic re-roofs registered with the NFRC Competent Person Scheme come with a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee where the scheme requires one. It's designed to protect you even if the contractor stops trading. It doesn't automatically cover repairs or small jobs, so ask us what applies to your work before you book.
Do you handle emergency roof repairs if I have sudden damage?
Yes. Call us as soon as you can. We'll talk you through anything you can safely do in the meantime, then visit as quickly as we can to make the roof safe and stop more water getting in. Once it's secure, we'll explain what caused the problem and quote for a lasting repair.
Is roof maintenance really worth it?
Yes, because it stops small problems becoming expensive ones. Moss holds moisture against your tiles, and blocked gutters overflow and cause damp. A regular check and gutter clear catches problems early. If you'd rather not have to remember, our 365 Protection Plans include scheduled inspections and gutter clearing.
